The challenge of this project was to transform a f a building of the '80s located in Martina Franca into a building of the '80s, updating the planimetric distribution to adapt it to the needs of contemporary life. Specifically there was the need to obtain a second bathroom and to develop a solution that can accommodate in the new home all the furniture already in the hands of owner since they are still current, well-made, in excellent condition and linked by an affective value. The project has therefore developed with the expansion of the kitchen to obtain a more adequate kitchen and the subsequent demolition of the wall of the dining room (which given its layout created a sense of disorientation and oppression). The new dining room has merged with the salon, in a more welcoming but also much more airy and bright. The demolitions have also affected the strange corridor in the shape of a Z and subsequent reconstructions have shaped a more regular space, so as to be able to derive the second bathroom just where before there was a dead space. The restructuring intervention did not only affect the distribution of the spaces, but all the systems, both electric and water (with the addition of the air conditioning service) were also adjusted and the energy performance of the building with the replacement of roller shutter bins with heat insulated containers, and the replacement of the fixtures with more performing materials. Finally, because today "pleasure of living" is no longer just a function, but a combination of utility and aesthetics, Angelo Bruno Building Workshop has tried to improve the quality of the property by laying the new parquet floor and studying and creating bathrooms with custom furniture. For the bathroom areas, Cordivari towel warmers have been chosen, offering a wide range of colours to customize.
